Bus Rally

Website Rally Page02

The bus rally will be held at Barleylands Farm Park, to the North of Basildon Town Centre.

If you’ve been there before you’ll already know what a fantastic place Barleylands is; if you’ve not been there before.....

They have around 60 craft business’s on site hand making anything from dress’s to glassware to wood & metal items and anything & everything in between. They also have a small farm squarely aimed at the little ones (there is a charge for this), tractor rides and a small railway. There’s also a car boot sale.

The facilities already onsite at Barleylands will compliment the bus rally and offer a great alternative for those members of the family that are maybe not so interested in just the buses.

Turning to the bus rally itself, I have hired Barleyland’s showground and I intend to park all buses facing in a Southerly direction to benefit photographers with sales stands in a separate market style area. However, should we need to switch to wet weather mode as we did with the first rally in 2016, it will be a case of making necessary compromises in order to fit everything in.

Essex Bus Rally is accommodating the Londoner in the Country event, so there’ll be two parts to the bus display - the London area and the everything else area. We are expecting around 100 buses & coaches on site (we had 102 vehicles on site in 2018) so it should be quite a spectacular display.

And that’s not all!

As the MCW Metrobus and Leyland Titan celebrate their 40th birthdays in 2018,  we’re going to have both M1 and T1 onsite and displayed with some of their sisters.

M1 - currently owned by Ensignbus

T1 - currently owned by the London Bus Company

And just becasue we can, we’re also going to have the very first and very last LT class “Borismasters” onsite and displayed together.

Aside from the buses & coaches on display there’ll be a play area (including a play bus) to keep the little ones amused. We have got two caterers, a table & chaired picnic area, over 30 trade stands and regular free bus rides......... basically we’ve got all the elements needed to make a top notch bus rally!!

As with our previous rallies, there’ll be a FREE bus service linking Barleylands Farm Park with the bus station in the centre of town, and new for 2018, an additional half hourly service linking Barleylands with Wickford rail station.
We also have a
FREE feeder bus service serving Shenfield.
Full details of all the
FREE bus services can be found by clicking here.

Whilst you are encouraged to arrive at Barleylands Farm Park using the FREE bus services, you are just as welcome to come by car (for the directions check out the how to get there page).
